Virgin Care, a healthcare provider running roughly 230 services, faced the challenge of turning large, disparate datasets (multiple clinical systems, Excel files and data warehouses) into timely, actionable insights to improve patient care, experience and operations. They needed to centralize reporting and give managers easy access to operational data so teams could quickly identify and address problems.

They piloted and rolled out Tableau and Tableau Server, connecting and blending SQL and Excel sources and deploying interactive dashboards to about 500 users. This created a single reporting medium, enabled fast ad-hoc and in-meeting analytics, increased visibility to surface issues for specialist teams to fix, and fostered a stronger data-driven culture that improved service management and patient outcomes.
