USAID Global Health adopts Tableau to improve data sharing, help people in need, and save lives

USAID Global Health, the bureau that directs the agency’s global health programs across some 80 countries, needed a better way to aggregate and share six decades of program data. Data collection varied widely by country, leaving information siloed, distrusted, and often inaccessible to front-line workers who make programmatic decisions.

By adopting Tableau and building the Global Health Data Analytics Hub plus an enterprise Data Fellowship and JEE dashboard, the bureau created 100+ self-service analytics applications and a data-education program. In less than two years the organization shifted from siloed datasets to an enterprise Tableau environment that meets about 90% of users’ data needs, bolsters trust and storytelling with evidence, and drives better decisions and health outcomes.
