Thailand’s Department of Disease Control Democratizes Analytics to Make Better, Faster Decisions on Public Health

Thailand’s Department of Disease Control, a public health agency under Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, needed a faster, more self-service way to analyze large, multi-source health data and support disease prevention and outbreak response. Working with Tableau Software, the department wanted to reduce reliance on specialized programmers and help medical staff access insights directly.

Tableau Software helped the Department of Disease Control democratize analytics with easy-to-use visualizations and self-service reporting. As a result, staff could create visualizations in 1–2 days instead of more than ten, and extract and visualize large data sets in 2–3 hours instead of overnight. The agency also used Tableau to consolidate data from 500–600 hospitals, create real-time Covid-19 visualizations, and publish public-facing dashboards that improved decision-making, resource allocation, and public communication.
