Sysco, a global foodservice distributor, needed faster, more reliable analytics to support its three‑year plan to unlock savings and drive top‑line growth. Its legacy analytics environment struggled with large volumes, reporting inconsistencies, long lead times, rising costs, scalability and stability issues, and lacked an enterprise view of customers, products and suppliers or a self‑service reporting model.

Sysco implemented SEED (Sysco Ecosystem for Enterprise Data) — a cloud‑native Tableau on AWS architecture that added governance, security, agile sandboxes and support for advanced use cases across marketing, merchandising and revenue management. The platform shifted BI from hindsight to insight, empowered users, and scaled Tableau usage from 64 to 12,713 users (≈20×), enabling revenue growth, operational efficiencies and faster, more agile decision making.
