Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s largest community and mental health providers, delivering services across Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Although it collected large volumes of clinical and operational data, its 7,000 staff working across 150 sites struggled to use it: fragmented spreadsheets and inflexible reporting meant monthly reports were often out of date, hard to interrogate and not helpful for frontline decision-making or improvement.

Southern Health partnered with Concentra to deploy Tableau, creating integrated, easy-to-navigate dashboards available within four months. The platform now supports 1,157 registered users with 469 subscribed visualizations and more than 600 views daily, provides seven-day, early-morning updates, automates manual processes and is already delivering measurable gains — including improved data quality (one metric +23%), large time savings (projected >15 working days/month at 12 months, >30 at 24 months), faster decisions, reduced waiting times and a stronger culture of continuous improvement.
