Signet Jewelers deploys Tableau and Alteryx to transform its data community and support its “path to brilliance”

Signet Jewelers, which operates more than 3,000 stores including Zales, Kay Jewelers, and Jared across the US, UK, and Canada, needed to better leverage its large volume of consumer data to stay competitive while cutting IT deployment and maintenance costs. Growth of siloed analytics and “shadow IT” left the central IT team reactive and slowed company-wide decision-making, so Signet sought to centralize data and make insights accessible to nontechnical users.

Signet built an enterprise data warehouse with Alteryx for data prep and deployed Tableau (including Tableau Online) with starter dashboards, an Enterprise Analytics team, and a Center of Excellence to promote self-service analytics. The initiative produced faster insights and lower IT overhead, increased Tableau per-user views by over 34%, generated thousands of dashboard views, saved $250K on one maintenance dashboard, and uncovered a $10M+ opportunity from analysis of 75M+ point-of-sale transactions.
