NTT DATA, a leading Japanese systems integrator, needed faster, integrated analytics to support internal decision‑making. IT teams were overloaded building custom reports on request and data lived in many formats (Oracle, Excel, Access) across departments, making timely, detailed analysis and action difficult.

NTT DATA adopted Tableau using the Tableau Drive methodology to build a company BI platform led by Kenichi Kuroki. Business users—many with no prior BI skills—can now blend system and departmental data, create and share secure reports via Tableau Server, and rapidly iterate their PDCA cycles; the rollout reached 15 organizations in four months and the approach has been codified and reused across affiliates.
