National Financial Partners (NFP) is a national network of independent financial advisors specializing in life insurance, executive benefits, and wealth planning. Its Field Technology team needed to support Operations and Accounting: Operations had to monitor policy processing response rates for more than 1,000 open cases and measure carrier performance, while Accounting had to process thousands of commission payments and identify anomalies. NFP required a visual, easy-to-learn front end compatible with SQL Server and Excel, with PowerPoint integration, that could be deployed quickly without servers or long IT projects.

NFP selected Tableau Professional, which connects to Excel, Access and SQL Server and provides visual analysis to uncover trends, relationships and outliers in large datasets. According to Brandon Nichols, Tableau lets the team drill into data far faster than traditional query tools. The solution streamlined insurance case processing and commission accounting, sped anomaly detection and improved carrier performance reporting, driving operational efficiency and better customer outcomes.
