Merkle, a customer-relationship marketing agency that manages campaigns for many large clients, needed a faster, more scalable way to build and share campaign performance and operations reports across varied data sets (big, medium, and small) and multiple sources. The challenge was to automate reporting so analysts could spend less time building dashboards and more time generating insights for clients.
Merkle implemented Tableau and Tableau Server to connect and blend data from SQL Server, Excel, text files, and Salesforce, enabling rapid dashboard mock-ups, automated publishing, and interactive online access for clients and employees. The result was faster dashboard delivery, widespread internal adoption, improved decision-making through live/refreshable visualizations, and freed analyst time to focus on driving business insights.
