Media Impact, a Berlin‑based advertising marketer owned by Axel Springer and Funke Mediengruppe with five regional offices and more than 90 print and online publications, needed to modernize slow, manual reporting and give departments direct access to current data. After evaluating several BI tools, the company sought a self‑service solution that would replace an outdated system and cut the heavy time burden of weekly reports.

By implementing Tableau together with Alteryx and connecting sources like SAP SD, SAP R/3 and Smart Ad Server, Media Impact rolled out dashboards to about 100–120 users and automated many reporting tasks. Service cost center reporting fell from two days to 30–60 minutes (about a 95% effort reduction), teams can now analyze ad format profitability and campaign performance more effectively, user satisfaction is high, and the company is moving toward fully migrating reporting and providing executives with real‑time management summaries.
