The Magnum Group is the leading pharmaceutical wholesaler and retailer in the Baltics, operating roughly 200 company-owned and franchised pharmacies. Intense competition for limited, expensive premium shelf space in Estonia — combined with no BI team or data warehouse — meant placement and layout decisions were centralized in senior management and opportunities to improve merchandising were being missed.
Magnum implemented Tableau to blend sales and profitability data with shelf-layout specs (CSV/Excel extracts) and built interactive dashboards to spot trends and differences across stores. The analysis led to a major pharmacy renovation and a new store concept now rolling out in Estonia and Latvia, improved shelf-space decisions, and wider, democratized access to data as employees have become internal Tableau analysts.
