Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center serves more than 700,000 residents in suburban Chicago. After implementing Tableau Online in 2017, adoption stalled because analysts had to pull data from 20+ disparate sources and 36 applications, making reporting slow and resource-intensive and limiting staff access to the data needed for timely decisions.

By deploying Tableau Server with Tableau Prep Conductor to automate and monitor data flows, the department centralized analytics and enabled self-service reporting. Report maintenance now requires almost no resources, adoption grew from a few dozen to hundreds of users, and dashboards (productivity, financial, clinical quality, and COVID-19 situational views) now support faster, data-driven decisions—including better allocation of resources to underserved communities.
