INRIX is a global leader in traffic information, ingesting crowd-sourced data from roughly 100 million devices and storing petabytes of traffic records across millions of road segments. Their challenge was that creating a national traffic scorecard was a laborious, three-month, once-a-year process; they needed a scalable, dynamic way to update and visualize congestion data monthly for customers, media, and government partners.

By adopting Tableau and compressing key data extracts (about 4 million rows live), INRIX built interactive, multi-language dashboards that made the scorecard dynamic and easy to update. The result: scorecard generation shrank from three months to about three hours, teams can explore data on the fly, the visualizations drive media coverage and government engagement, and Tableau is now used across the company for new insights and use cases.
