Case Study: Bol.com achieves data-driven transformation and self-service analytics with Tableau Software

A Tableau Software Case Study

Preview of the Bol.com Case Study

How self-service analytics from Tableau is helping bol.com become a data-driven organisation

Bol.com, one of Europe’s largest online retailers serving millions in the Netherlands and Belgium, needed to stay highly agile as it scaled. Rapidly shifting consumer habits, a growing number of data sources and users, and the need to decentralize reporting put pressure on the BI team to deliver fast, reliable insights that could drive day-to-day decisions across the business.

By adopting Tableau (with rollout support from The Information Lab), bol.com enabled visual, self-service analytics that scale across 250+ data sources and a user base that grew from ~200 to 750+. The platform sped up insight into purchasing trends, inventory and assortment management, improving customer service and reducing environmental impact. During COVID-19 daily Tableau usage rose 15% as the company moved training online, further embedding data-driven decision making across the organisation.
