Giving time back to teachers at Aspire Public Schools

Aspire Public Schools, an Oakland-based charter network of 30 schools serving 10,000 students, needed to give teachers more time for instruction and better access to data. With student, HR, finance and attendance data scattered across about 20 operational systems, teachers and the data team spent hours compiling Excel and PowerPoint reports, delaying insights and limiting use of longitudinal data.

Aspire built an integrated data warehouse and deployed Tableau Desktop and Server to deliver simple, consistent visual reports to about 1,200 employees (roughly 600 teachers). Teacher-specific dashboards arrive within 24–48 hours, freeing teachers and assessment staff to focus on instruction and coaching. The result: significant time savings, faster access to richer, multi-year data, and a stronger data-driven culture where staff ask better questions and act on insights.
