GIDCC draws valuable real-time insights for an agile response to COVID19 with Tableau

Gyeonggi Infectious Disease Control Center (GIDCC) is South Korea’s first regional institute dedicated to managing infectious disease at the provincial level. Faced with fast-moving outbreaks like MERS and COVID‑19, GIDCC needed real‑time monitoring, rapid epidemiological analysis, and transparent data sharing across 31 cities and districts, provincial and national partners, and the public—while reducing time‑consuming manual reporting.

GIDCC deployed Tableau (with training and support from partner PLAN‑if) to connect multiple data sources (KCDC, NEDIS, National Health Insurance Service and epidemiological studies) into a single, real‑time dashboard view. The solution automated data cleaning and reporting, improved tracing and case management, enabled faster data‑driven policy decisions by researchers and health officials, and made up‑to‑date dashboards publicly accessible—boosting collaboration, productivity, and community health literacy.
