Garanti BBVA Bank, Turkey’s second-largest private bank, set out in 2017 to convert 900 branches into digitally focused customer service centres within 18 months. With 92% of non-cash transactions already happening digitally, the bank needed a single, reliable source of truth to break down fragmented BI silos and give stakeholders—from branch managers to executives—timely KPIs and visibility to manage the rapid change.
The bank deployed Tableau, connecting Oracle, Microsoft SQL and various files to create a central analytics platform. This enabled self-service analytics at all levels, cut report update times from days to hours, and provided real-time monitoring of branch performance and customer behavior—supporting the successful transformation and ongoing, insight-driven improvements to the in-branch digital experience.
