A Tableau Software Case Study
Duke University Health System, a large health services and research organization, faced a challenge with data accessibility and information silos across departments, even while using Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server. Although Tableau users at Duke shared best practices, there was no broader structure to answer foundational questions about what data existed, who could access it, and how teams could collaborate more effectively.
With Tableau Software, Duke University Health System helped build a department-agnostic Duke Analytics Community to centralize communication, improve equitable access, and support knowledge sharing across teams. The result was better data democracy, stronger collaboration, and improved project allocation, along with open forums for code sharing and analytics discussion. Executive support and community participation helped drive measurable engagement, including a logo contest that drew submissions from more than a dozen members.
