Cobalt was dealing with rapidly growing, heterogeneous data (about 15 TB and expanding 3–5x annually) from a Greenplum data warehouse, SQL Server, Excel and SaaS sources, and needed a way to get actionable insights into the hands of many different teams — analytics/insights, advertising, development and data science — for reporting, optimization, rapid prototyping and model communication.

By deploying Tableau Desktop (about 65 authors) and Tableau Server (roughly 1,000 consumers), Cobalt connected its enterprise data sources to interactive dashboards that support rapid prototyping and the sharing of model results. The rollout has sped insight delivery, broadened adoption across departments, freed BI staff to focus on higher‑level opportunities, and made teams more efficient and effective at using their growing data.
