Before Tableau Software, the company relied on Excel and static legacy reports, which made it difficult for providers and analysts to understand performance, identify opportunities, and improve care affordability and patient outcomes.

Tableau Software provided Cigna with secure, governed dashboards that combined financial, customer, provider, and treatment data into actionable reports for internal teams and partner organizations. The results included $145 million in total medical cost savings to date, $120 annual savings per patient, and a 25% reduction in opioid prescriptions, while 41% of surveyed providers said they used the reports more frequently to guide care.
