The Catholic Education Diocese of Parramatta, which serves more than 45,000 students and nearly 5,000 staff, faced a common education-data challenge: large volumes of demographic, socioeconomic and performance data were difficult to curate, triangulate and use proactively, limiting principals’ ability to identify students needing early intervention or to benchmark school performance.

By deploying Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, CIO Raju Varanasi equipped principals with a largely prefilled analytics canvas and rights to add local datasets, creating a single source of truth. Schools can now benchmark against nearby and state standards, track student growth in reading, writing and numeracy, and intervene earlier—changes that are already delivering clearer insights and tangible value in the early stages of their analytics journey.
