Cars.com, a leading online car-shopping destination with about 11 million monthly visits, needed a faster, easier way for salespeople, advertisers and internal teams to see how ads were performing. Their previous workflow relied on manual Excel work and lengthy data pushes into Salesforce that could delay access to fresh metrics by hours—especially during high-traffic periods like February and the Super Bowl—hindering timely customer conversations.

Working with Tableau and Tableau Professional Services, Cars.com deployed two Tableau Server instances (internal and external), integrated dashboards into Salesforce and the customer portal via token authentication, and automated refreshes. The result: immediate, on-demand dashboards used by 600+ sales reps, saved 45 hours during the February peak, up to ~80 hours saved in deployment effort, earlier daily metrics, consistent branding, and much faster, widespread adoption.
