Bank Mandiri, Indonesia’s largest bank, set out to embed a data-driven culture across the organization but faced slow, manual reporting—information requests took up to two weeks to fulfill via SQL queries and spreadsheet reports—and needed a faster, more secure, and governed way to deliver analytics to business users.

By partnering with Tableau and centralizing efforts in its Enterprise Data Management (EDM) Group, the bank deployed self-service analytics with 601 dashboards and 571 active Tableau users, launched training and a user community, and instituted governance practices. The result: information delivery accelerated from two weeks to two days in some cases, secure, role-based access to consistent “single source of facts,” and faster, better-informed decision-making across the bank.
