A Tab Case Study
Guerrera Rice Paddy Villas and Restaurant, a remote resort and restaurant in the Philippines, faced a significant challenge in accepting payments from its international clientele. Due to its isolated location, banks had not established a modern infrastructure, making cash the only viable transaction method. This was problematic as most of their guests from abroad preferred to pay with credit cards, a request the business was previously unable to fulfill.
The vendor, Tab, provided a solution by enabling the resort to accept card payments. This eliminated the previous embarrassment of declining card payments and made the business "legit" in the eyes of its customers. The results were immediate, with guests enthusiastically using the new payment option. The implementation also had a positive internal impact, requiring staff to be told to relax as guests often took celebratory "Tab selfies" upon paying.
