UofL Discovers the Future of Parking Citation Payments with T2’s Scan & Pay

The University of Louisville, working with its Parking & Transportation Services team, wanted a more convenient, mobile-friendly way for students and other parkers to pay parking citations. While the university already used T2 Flexport and offered in-person and mail-in payments, it needed a faster, easier option that matched how users prefer to pay today.

T2 Systems implemented its Citation Payments Scan & Pay solution, allowing users to scan a QR code on a citation and pay on their phone via Google Pay or credit card. Since launching in February 2024, T2 Systems helped UofL cut collection times from about 73 days to about 7 days, with 28% of citations paid through the feature in three months and nearly $30,000 in transactions processed. The university also saw fewer appeals and strong adoption without any marketing.
