San Jose State Embraces the Silicon Valley Mindset with New Technology

San Jose State University, a large campus with more than 40,000 students, faculty, and staff, faced major parking challenges including limited spaces, permit misuse, compliance issues, and inefficient manual enforcement. The university turned to T2 Systems and its T2 FlexPort platform, along with other T2 parking technologies, to replace outdated physical permits and simplify operations.

T2 Systems implemented virtual permits, virtual guest permits, Luke II pay stations, and mobile and fixed license plate recognition enforcement so license plates became the parking credential. The results were significant: compliance improved, citation numbers dropped, garage enforcement time fell from up to 3 hours to 35 minutes, office traffic demand was reduced by almost 24%, and parking sales increased by nearly 30%.
