Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority - Customer Case Study

The Lexington & Fayette County Parking Authority (LEXPARK) needed to modernize an aging parking system made up of old single-space meters and early pay stations that did not accept credit cards. Working with T2 Systems, LEXPARK began upgrading to smarter meters and pay stations, while also seeking a more user-friendly, less cash-dependent parking experience for drivers.

T2 Systems helped LEXPARK implement the Luke II and Luke Cosmo pay stations, switch to pay-by-plate, and add T2 MobilePay for text-to-pay parking. The results were stronger customer adoption, easier operations for maintenance and collections, and a major shift toward cashless payments: mobile transactions surpassed cash for the first time in January 2022 and continued to grow, helping LEXPARK move toward its goal of becoming more asset-light.
