City of Aspen collects $180,000 in citation payments with T2 Systems

The City of Aspen, a high-demand tourist destination with limited parking infrastructure, faced challenges with inconvenient in-person citation payments and a need to reduce foot traffic to its parking office. To address this, the city partnered with vendor T2 Systems to implement its Scan & Pay mobile payment solution.

T2 Systems' Scan & Pay solution allowed users to scan a QR code on citations to pay instantly from their phones. This implementation resulted in $180,000 collected in the first year, with payments made 5-6x faster than through kiosks or the web. For T2 Systems, the solution also led to 86% of citations being paid on time and a reduction in appeals to less than 1%.
