A AT&T Business Case Study
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts partnered with AT&T Business to address a common maintenance challenge: Cast Members often had to stop work to manually retrieve technical documents, manuals, and inspection data stored in different systems and locations. As Disney’s operations grew more complex, the team needed a faster, more mobile way to get the right information to frontline maintenance staff in the field.
AT&T Business and Disney jointly developed Project Axle, a mobile application proof of concept built through AT&T Foundry ideation sessions and field testing at Epcot’s Test Track. The solution combined rapid credential validation, geo-location, mapping, schematic and inspection data, plus video delivery to automatically stream the right information to the right Cast Members. The result was a prototype that helped pre-load ride specifications, improve navigation to job sites, and reduce maintenance and repair time; Disney’s response was so strong that AT&T received a standing ovation when it first presented the prototype.
