Case Study: Otis Elevator Company improves service efficiency with AT&T Business IoT

A AT&T Business Case Study

Preview of the Otis Elevator Company Case Study

Otis Elevator gets a lift from digital technologies

Otis Elevator Company, the world’s largest manufacturer and maintainer of elevators, escalators and moving walkways, needed a better way to equip its 31,000 service technicians with the right information before they arrived at a job site. Working with AT&T Business, Otis wanted to improve visibility into equipment issues and help field teams know in advance what tools and parts would be needed to service its complex machines.

AT&T Business implemented an Internet of Things (IoT) solution using Global SIM cards and services such as Control Center, M2X and Flow Designer to collect and share real-time equipment data through the cloud. The result was improved technician efficiency, better communication and greater flexibility, while eliminating the need to physically connect to machines for diagnostics. With AT&T Business connectivity, Otis gained a more proactive service model that helps lower costs, improve performance and give customers more control over their equipment.
