Case Study: AUM Cardiovascular accelerates cardiac diagnostics with AT&T Business IoT connectivity

A AT&T Business Case Study

Preview of the AUM Cardiovascular Case Study

Breakthrough acoustic device helps detect coronary artery disease

AUM Cardiovascular, a medical technology startup, developed CADence™, a handheld device that detects signs of coronary artery disease by analyzing heart sounds. The company needed a reliable way to transmit patient data from remote or poorly connected healthcare settings to its servers for analysis, since spotty Wi‑Fi made early deployments difficult.

AT&T Business provided Internet of Things global connectivity, using an AT&T Global SIM and a custom app on a tablet to securely send CADence data to AUM’s servers and return results by email in about 10 minutes. With AT&T Business, AUM was able to deliver fast, low-cost cardiac assessments in clinics, rural areas, and other hard-to-reach locations, and had placed 1,000 systems while expanding into new markets.
