Pocket PC Development Provides Sales Force Tool for Coca Cola

The Coca-Cola Company needed a portable sales tool to replace pen‑and‑paper field reporting and integrate with its web‑based SQL Server customer management system without the cost of laptops. Using SYWARE's Visual CE, Coca‑Cola developed a Pocket PC contact‑management application to capture customer, prospect and equipment data on the go and sync it with the desktop system.

SYWARE’s Visual CE allowed Billy Wang to quickly build and deploy synchronized Pocket PC forms that eliminate duplicate data entry, speed access to up‑to‑date customer information, and boost salesforce morale. The pilot for 80 Southern California reps is slated to roll out nationwide; by using $500 handhelds instead of $4,000 laptops the division saves about $3,500 per rep (roughly $280,000), while improving reporting, sales program responsiveness, and field efficiency.
