Pocket PC Applications Help Hospitals Enforce Strict Cleanliness Standards

Business Performance PLC needed a reliable, easy-to-use way to enforce strict cleanliness standards across hospitals and large facilities while moving away from slow, paper-based inspections. To build a handheld inspection tool that nontechnical cleaning staff could use, Business Performance PLC developed the CheckMate Pocket PC application using Visual CE®, the database development tool from SYWARE.

Using SYWARE’s Visual CE, Business Performance PLC delivered CheckMate on Pocket PC devices (typically Casio E125s) with quick desktop synchronization, failure-code drop-downs, photos/voice notes and customizable room parameters. The SYWARE-powered solution was built rapidly (about two weeks), is now used in over 100 locations, syncs inspection data in roughly ten seconds, eliminates hours of manual paperwork and data entry, reduces transposition errors and typically pays for itself within two months.
