Integrating Windows CE Applications with Legacy Applications: Haagen-Dazs and San Francisco Airport

InTech Solutions, a California-based systems integrator, helped organizations stuck on legacy platforms (like AS/400) overcome the inefficiencies of paper-based field data collection. To address slow, error-prone workflows at customers including Haagen-Dazs and San Francisco International Airport, InTech used SYWARE’s Visual CE to build Windows CE handheld applications that integrate mobile data capture with legacy systems.

Using SYWARE’s Visual CE, InTech deployed Casio E-500–based apps for quality assurance and meter reading that cut development time in half and automated synchronization with desktop Access databases and AS/400 systems. The solution eliminated over 120 hours per month of manual data entry at Haagen-Dazs, reduced SFO’s meter-reading headcount from four to two, removed duplicate re-keying steps, slashed errors, and sped billing and reporting — all delivered using SYWARE’s Visual CE.
