Case Study: Global Bank achieves secure third-party administrator access and complete session auditing with Syteca

A Syteca Case Study

Preview of the Global Bank Case Study

Organize secure access of the third-party administrators to the bank’s infrastructure with the complete activity monitoring

Global Bank engaged Syteca to secure third‑party administrators’ access to its database infrastructure. The bank needed to allow up to two external DBAs simultaneous privileged access to 116 Oracle and 6 DB2 systems running on RHEL and AIX while ensuring every remote session was monitored, logged and auditable; Syteca proposed a Bastion host solution with a terminal server, installed DB administration tools, a session‑monitoring agent and secondary authentication.

Syteca implemented the Bastion host architecture—deploying the terminal server, EKRAN‑style monitoring agent, access rules, secondary authentication and instant alerts—so all activity across the 122 database systems is recorded and available for post‑audit. The solution identifies individual users even under shared credentials, provides real‑time alerts when databases are accessed, supports the required two concurrent third‑party admins, and was successfully deployed to give Global Bank full session auditability and control.
