Case Study: MGI Group achieves faster game localization and lower costs with SYSTRAN Machine Translation

A SYSTRAN Case Study

Preview of the MGI Group Case Study

MGI Group speeds up game localization with SYSTRAN and cuts expenses 15%

MGI Group, a publisher of free-to-play Massive Multiplayer Online games, was facing significant challenges in localizing its vast amount of game content from Chinese into multiple European languages under tight deadlines. The high volume of text and the need to preserve machine-readable instructions within the content made human translation a bottleneck. To address this, they worked with SYSTRAN to integrate Machine Translation into their workflow.

SYSTRAN implemented its Translate Server with a tailored Neural Machine Translation engine, which was trained on MGI's own translation memories and glossaries from their MemoQ CAT tool. This specialized solution seamlessly integrated into their existing workflow and successfully preserved critical text tags. The result was a delivery time twice as fast as before and a 15% decrease in localization expenses.
