Farfetch, the global luxury fashion marketplace, needed to localize very large volumes of content across 16 languages and about 50 markets, including 3,000 products per day and support for 38 partner websites. Its mostly manual translation workflow had become too slow and difficult to scale, even after adding a translation management system. SYSTRAN helped address this challenge with SYSTRAN Translate Server integrated into Farfetch’s localization workflow.

With SYSTRAN’s neural machine translation, Farfetch improved translation efficiency by 30% to 35% and achieved cost savings of 35% to 45%, with an additional 10% to 15% gain in year two through engine retraining. SYSTRAN also delivered a user-friendly, flexible solution with customized NMT engines for specific content types, helping Farfetch maintain quality while reinvesting savings into continuous optimization.
