Case Study: PSA Peugeot Citroen Group achieves secure, on-demand multilingual intranet translation and collaboration with SYSTRAN

A SYSTRAN Case Study

Preview of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Group Case Study

From on-Demand Translation via the Group’s Intranet Portal to Multilingual Business-Specific Applications

PSA Peugeot Citroen Group, Europe’s second‑largest car manufacturer, needed a secure, on‑demand translation capability integrated into its global Intranet to help 90,000 employees understand and collaborate on multilingual content (documents, emails, presentations, web pages) without risking confidentiality. After evaluating options, PSA Peugeot Citroen Group selected SYSTRAN’s machine translation solution to meet its real‑time, enterprise security and integration requirements.

SYSTRAN’s servers and APIs were fully integrated into PSA Peugeot Citroen Group’s IT infrastructure, providing instant text, file, web and email translation, a 25,000‑term automotive dictionary, and a downloadable toolbar for Office and browsers. The SYSTRAN deployment supports 17 language pairs (and production translations in 22 languages for technical repair documentation), is used by nearly 3,000 daily users generating 40,000–50,000 requests per day (exceeding 1 million requests per month), and drove about 360,000 dictionary look‑ups in a year (+112%), while enabling business‑specific apps such as quality incident report translation.
