Victor Central School District expands access and improves education through VIRTUALIZATION

Victor Central School District, a Western New York K-12 district serving more than 4,300 students, needed to refresh aging laptops and desktops without exceeding a tight budget. To extend the life of its technology and improve access for students and staff, the district turned to Systems Management Planning (SMP) and VMware View desktop virtualization.

Systems Management Planning (SMP) designed and implemented a staged virtualization rollout that repurposed older devices as thin clients and expanded virtual desktops across the campus. The result was a 40% extension in laptop and desktop life, a 30% drop in help desk tickets, faster boot times, and remote access to applications for students, teachers, and staff; the district has since expanded to 700 virtual desktops and laptops.
