Case Study: Gates Vascular Institute improves patient communication and doctor efficiency with Systems Management Planning

A Systems Management Planning Case Study

Improving the patient experience and doctor efficiency

Gates Vascular Institute (GVI), a Kaleida Health facility in Buffalo, needed a better way for busy physicians to keep patients’ families informed without slowing down care. GVI turned to Systems Management Planning (SMP) to improve workflow efficiency and strengthen patient, family, and physician communication using Cisco Collaboration technology.

Systems Management Planning designed a video-based communication system built on Cisco SX20 video endpoints, Cisco EX90 telepresence systems, Touch 8 control panels, and Cisco Communications Manager. The solution lets doctors update families face-to-face in real time, share scans and procedure details, and answer questions more efficiently, resulting in improved communications, increased patient flow, and more efficient doctors with fewer post-op questions and follow-up appointments.
