Simplicity of identity and authorization management and data protection in Hospitals cluster environment

The Women-Children's Surgery Division, part of a Normandy hospital cluster, faced challenges in complying with French healthcare privacy regulations, strengthening IT security, and managing identities and access across multiple legal entities. They also needed to simplify system access and facilitate staff mobility. To address this, they partnered with vendor Systancia to implement their Avencis Hpliance and Avencis SSOX solutions.

Systancia's solutions provided centralized identity and access management, automating provisioning for 140 applications and enabling secure, single sign-on via a multi-use smartcard. This eliminated generic accounts for full traceability, strengthened security with strong authentication, and granted staff full mobility. The implementation significantly simplified management, saving an estimated two full-time equivalents (FTEs) in administrative effort.
