A SYSPRO ERP Software Case Study
Fisher Scientific International, a global leader in life-science and laboratory products with more than 50 operating units, needed a common corporate software standard to unify diverse small- to mid-size manufacturing operations. Facing mixed-mode manufacturing methods, disparate reporting and training requirements, and the need for better corporate control and decision-making, the company evaluated solutions and selected SYSPRO enterprise business software (implemented on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 via reseller Sutton Software, Inc.) to meet those needs.
SYSPRO ERP Software delivered a flexible ERP with modules such as Materials Requirements Planning, lot traceability, inventory control, engineering change control and RMA/bar-coding support to handle make-to-stock, make-to-order, engineer-to-order and mixed-mode operations. The deployment accelerated implementations (some units were live in as few as five weeks), markedly reduced employee training time, improved purchasing and production scheduling and traceability, and—together with SQL Server—enabled data warehousing and drill-down reporting; more than 100 users are now working with the SYSPRO solution across Fisher Scientific International.
