Samson Rope Technologies, a U.S. manufacturer of highly engineered ropes with ISO 9001 certification and some 21,000 product variants sold in many configurations, faced the challenge of managing extensive quality testing, thousands of custom orders, multi-site inventory and fast order turnaround across four plants, five warehouses and thirteen sales divisions. To address these needs Samson selected SYSPRO ERP Software as its enterprise system to standardize operations and tie all locations into a single, scalable platform.

SYSPRO ERP Software was implemented on an IBM RS/6000 AIX server and linked sites via a WAN, enabling fast order entry (new orders processed in under 2.5 minutes) and typical turnaround of four days to two weeks, driven by forecast-building with a 10% buffer and bulk production for rapid customization. SYSPRO’s ODBC and modules supported e-commerce and online order tracing, while a real‑time RF bar‑coding interface improved inventory tracking and warehouse processes, delivering measurable efficiency, faster fulfillment, and scalable data management for Samson.
