SA Shipyards Sails Ahead with SYSPRO

Southern African Shipyards, Africa’s leading commercial and naval shipbuilder and repairer, faced fragmented standalone accounting, planning and reporting systems and heavy manual processes that undermined productivity, efficiency and cost control. To replace these disparate tools with a fully integrated, automated ERP, the company selected SYSPRO ERP Software (implemented as SYSPRO 7.1 with e.net Solutions, delivered by RN Software Support c.c.).

RN Software customized and deployed the SYSPRO ERP Software suite after extensive planning and testing, providing live posting, integrated costing, time-and-attendance and project controls. Manual intervention fell from 100% to about 5%, cost-control compliance improved from roughly 40% to at least 90%, and Southern African Shipyards anticipates R23 million in annual savings, along with tighter controls, real-time reporting, higher productivity and strong staff buy-in.
