Osment Models Sees Big Picture with SYSPRO Software

Osment Models, a U.S. manufacturer of model railroad and miniature landscaping kits and accessories, faced growth-related pains from using simple DOS-based accounting and spreadsheet-driven forecasting. Needing sophisticated forecasting, multi-site manufacturing controls and better inventory planning, the company chose SYSPRO ERP Software (deploying SYSPRO enterprise software and SYSPRO e.net solutions) to replace its legacy system.

SYSPRO ERP Software went live in August 2001 (12 users) and its Inventory Control, Requirements Planning and Work in Progress modules, together with SYSPRO e.net solutions, automated web orders via COM/XML, enabled real-time order processing, and integrated a custom warehouse application. The implementation produced significant inventory reductions, lower labor costs and fewer order errors, improved production and purchasing schedules, and moved Osment Models toward a Just-In-Time manufacturing model.
