Lone Star Bakery, a large family-owned food manufacturer operating two plants and extensive frozen storage, was hampered by archaic, manual record-keeping and needed an integrated accounting and manufacturing system to remain competitive. After evaluating options, Lone Star selected SYSPRO ERP Software and its ERP solution to modernize operations and better mirror the company’s fast-changing production environment.

SYSPRO ERP Software implemented the SYSPRO ERP solution across Lone Star’s sites (initially on Novell, later on a Windows server with T1 links and 16 concurrent users), delivering real-time visibility, perpetual inventory tracking and improved production scheduling. The system enabled tighter inventory control, better forecasting and more judicious purchasing—allowing Lone Star to operate more economically and place timely supplier orders rather than holding massive stock despite frequent 24–48 hour production changes.
