Floe Industries Goes Lean on SYSPRO ERP Base

Floe International, a Minnesota manufacturer of aluminum boat docks, boat lift systems and recreational trailers, needed better control of seasonal production, inventory and paperwork as it adopted Lean/Kanban supermarkets to meet dealer demand. To support just-in-time replenishment, traceability and reduced data entry, Floe implemented SYSPRO ERP Software (purchased from RT Enterprises).

By using SYSPRO ERP Software features—notably backflushing to auto-issue components when finished goods are received, custom live-reporting for supermarket stock and pull-through schedules, and the SYSPRO Learning Channel for employee training—Floe eliminated WIP paperwork, sped production flow and maintained real-time visibility of inventory and shipments. The rollout trained 32 employees via SLC (an estimated $50,800 in training cost savings) and delivered measurable improvements in efficiency, traceability and production scheduling.
