Astrapak Standardizes on SYSPRO to Accommodate Expansion

Astrapak, a Johannesburg-listed manufacturer of plastic packaging with three divisions and 23 business units, needed to standardize on a single enterprise system to support aggressive organic and acquisitive growth. Facing a patchwork of finance, sales and distribution systems, geographic spread and limited in‑house ERP rollout experience, Astrapak turned to SYSPRO ERP Software (three units were already running SYSPRO) to provide a unified platform.

SYSPRO ERP Software implemented a standardized SYSPRO solution with decentralized IT for each business unit, strategic sourcing of implementation partners, a small SYSPRO Report Writer development and barcoding integration. The rollout empowered salespeople to manage orders, production, inventory and collections, upgraded three units to SYSPRO 6.0, removed many third‑party developments, reduced reliance on implementation partners and delivered a more streamlined, robust system—improving sales management and allowing management to focus on core business.
