A Sysomos Expion Case Study
Follett (FHEG) operates 900+ college campus stores across the United States and Canada, generating more than $2.7B annually, but individual locations trade under university names—creating 900+ different brandings, campuses and audiences. FHEG needed a way to train local employees on social media best practices and scale a program (including Twitter and Google+ local pages) to manage a digital footprint that could exceed 2,700 profiles while improving customer service and search visibility.
Expion provided a centralized platform and analytics, backloading up to a year of data so regional managers could monitor local pages, share Top Posts, and approve trained employees as social advocates while removing native admin access for governance. The result: hundreds of Facebook and Twitter accounts managed from a single login, zero lost assets, increased fan growth and engagement tied to software adoption, and, “Because of the flexibility of Expion’s configuration, Follett can add additional social channels as their local social strategy evolves.”
