A Sysdig Case Study
Kenan Sulayman runs some of the largest Tor exit nodes, colocated at major European peering points with 10 Gbps uplinks and routinely pushing 150 MB/s per server (hundreds of terabytes per month). Because Tor reputation depends on uptime, concurrent connections and network capacity, even small performance changes have big impacts; Kenan needed deep, server-level and application-level visibility to detect anomalies, correlate resource usage with response times, and optimize both code and network behavior.
He deployed Sysdig’s kernel-based monitoring and the commercial platform to capture every host command, visualize multi-host metrics, segment traffic by port, and correlate response times with CPU/memory/network usage. Sysdig comfortably handled spikes (over 800 MB/s total), helped debug without frequent SSH/log digging, let him separate database and Tor node performance for targeted tuning, increased his Tor reputation and traffic, and replaced multiple tools—saving time and costs.
